GERARDO "LALO" JIMENEZ EDINBURG - Gerardo Jimenez, 87, was saved by the good Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, in Edinburg surrounded by his family. Born in Bluetown, Texas he had lived in Edinburg. Mr. Jimenez is preceded in death by his wife, Julia Loredo Jimenez; his parents, Lauriano and Rosa Jimenez. Mr. Jimenez was an intelligent, kind and giving man who worked hard all his life to provide for his wife and daughters. He is survived by his daughters, Norma (Hector) Espinoza, Nora (Roel) Rodriguez, Josefina (Jesus) Gutierrez, Carolina (Monte) Godwin and Elena (Roberto) Almendarez; three sisters, Guadalupe Martinez, Maria Reyna and Andrea Fuentes; his legacy will continue to live through his nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. The Jimenez family would like to thank the staff at Amara Hospice Facility in Edinburg for the kindness, respect and dignity showed towards their father during the last days of his life. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
