REYNALDO "REY" ESPERICUETA
EDINBURG - Reynaldo "Rey" Espericueta, 82, was called to our Lord's home, Monday, January 30, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born in La Grulla he had lived in Edinburg most of his life. Mr. Espericueta was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Clarissa Espericueta; his parents, Miguel and Teresa De Jesus Espericueta; two brothers, Rene and Ramiro Espericueta; three sisters, Irene Garcia, Elida Villarreal and Antonia Lopez.
Rey was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army, he touched the hearts of many people with his kind soul, boisterous laugh, and infectious smile. He be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Rey is survived by his wife, Maria Niño Espericueta; seven children, Melinda E. (Kip A.) Richmond, Nora E. (Ramon) De Leon, Robert (Dora) Espericueta, Lorina E. (Kevin) Schultz, Ida (Bill) Holden, Reynaldo (Aimee) Espericueta Jr. and Melissa E. (Stewart R.) Browning; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Jose Rogelio Espericueta; a sister, Miguelina Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Religious Education Fund in memory of Reynaldo "Rey" Espericueta in San Carlos, Texas.
