CAROLYN JANE "CAROL" GOOD
EDINBURG - Carolyn Jane "Carol" Good, 67, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, in Edinburg surrounded by family. Carolyn was born in Camp Kilmer, N.J., and formerly of El Paso, Texas she had lived in Edinburg for the past 20 years. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, James and Laura Jane Jamison.
Carol was a graduate of Charles E Gregory School of Nursing. In 1995, she began teaching Health Science in the Texas public school system at Lyford CISD. She taught at Rio Grande City CISD and retired from Weslaco ISD. Through her teaching, Carol inspired many students to pursue Medical careers. Carol loved places from the seashore, the desert, to the mountains. She enjoyed camping, reading, crafts, medical and investigative TV shows. Carol crocheted hats for her fellow chemo warriors.
Carolyn is survived by her spouse Berta E. "Berty" Valdez; two children, Kara (John Rouse) Good and Chad (Erica) Good; three grandchildren, Samuel, Emmanuel and Autumn; a brother, Robert Jamison; aunts, Doris (John) Barbuto and Grace Irving; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life service, Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson in Edinburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center. A scholarship fund will be established in Carols' name to help students obtain their dreams of becoming a nurse.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
