MANUEL "MEME" LOPEZ RIO GRANDE CITY - Manuel "Meme" Lopez, 88, went to be with our Lord, Monday, February 8, 2016, in Rio Grande City surrounded by his family. Born in Mexico he had lived in Rio Grande City for the past two years. He enjoyed farming and fishing. Mr. Lopez is preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Diaz Navarro de Lopez; a daughter, Gloria Lopez; his parents, Napoleon and Tomasita Lopez; three sisters, Monserat Lopez, Angelica Lopez and Maria Lopez; five brothers, Jose Angel, Eugenio, Jose, Guadalupe and Antonio Lopez; a daughter-in-law, Maria Lopez. Manuel is survived by his nine children; Juan De Dios (Rosa) Lopez, Emilio (Fina) Lopez, Napoleon (Maria De La Luz) Lopez, Constantino Lopez, Rosa Elia (Abelardo) Leal, Matias (Zeniada) Lopez, Maria De La Luz (Ernesto) Morales, Leticia Lopez, Martina (Jorge Luis) Villegas; 28 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eluterio and Marcos Lopez; a sister, Paula Lopez. Visitation will be from 3pm to 9pm with a 7pm prayer service, Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Graveside service will be at 10am Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Panteon Municipal, Ejido Santa Apolonia, Tamps., Mexico. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
