MELWESE WILLIAMSON BRANDES YOUNG
McAllen - Melwese Williamson Brandes Young, passed away Monday, December 28, 2012, in McAllen, Texas. She was born in Refugio, Texas on August 3, 1927. Melwese is preceded in death by her parents Hugh Thomas Williamson and Edith Lola McFadden O'Connor and her in laws Leslie Joseph Brandes and Coreen Anne Golhke Brandes. Her first husband, Gerald Edward Brandes, MD; James Michael Brandes, brother-in-law; and her second husband Raymond Allen Young; and stepson Royce Allen Young.
Mrs. Young is survived by three daughters Deborah Ann Brandes Todd and son-in-law, Marvin Jackson Todd Jr; Bridget Kay Brandes Wagner (Otto Elo Raymond Wagner,Jr); their three children, Otto Elo Raymond Wagner, III (Trey), his wife Martinique Michelle Verdier Wagner, great granddaughter, Dylann Neal Wagner; and Marcia Ellen Brandes; grandson, Jonathan Edward Brandes; grandson, Garrett Wayde Wagner,granddaughter, Leslie Frances Wagner, DVM and Paula Young Kacer, stepdaughter.
Melwese was a graduate of Refugio High School and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Texas A&I University now Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas. During her life, she was an avid Senior Girl Scout Leader for Senior Girl Scout Troop #18, a principal at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School and Office Manager for Dr. Carmen Gomez. She loved people and adventure.
A private memorial will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
