REINALDO V. "RAY" MANDES
McALLEN — Ray Mandes, 81, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, December 20, 2015, in Mission surrounded by his family. Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico and formerly of Corpus Christi, Texas, he had lived in McAllen most of his life. Mr. Mandes was a Veteran having served in the United States Air Force. Ray and his wife Delia moved to McAllen in 1960 and established their own business in 1963,
Ray Mandes Beauty Supply, which they owned for over 37 years. Ray will be remembered as hard working, cheerful, loving and friendly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Mandes is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delia Mandes; four children, Mike (Letty) Mandes, Ray (Veronica) Mandes II, Delia "DeeDee" (David) Alonzo and John (Mary) Mandes; ten grandchildren: Carlos, Hannah, Savannah, Ray Anthony, Matthew, Raquel, David Gabriel, Joel, James and Ephram; a sister, Socorro Mandes.
Visitation will be from 5pm to 9pm Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 3pm Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Roselawn Mausoleum Chapel, entombment will follow. Special thanks to the staff at Waterford Gardens Assisted Living for their compassionate care provided to Ray and for their continued care to Delia.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
