SEVERO HERNANDEZ
Severo Hernandez was born on August 26, 1949 in Tamaulipas, Mexico and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Progreso, Texas. Mr. Hernandez is preceded in death by his wife, Cruz Hernandez, who passed in 2018 of Denver, Colorado; his parents, Cruz and Marcello Hernandez of Nuevo Progreso, Mexico.
He was a kind and loving person who was a devout Catholic at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Denver, Colorado. He participated as a volunteer and member of this church with his wife, Cruz, for many years. Prior to his retirement, he served as an autobody mechanic for several years in Greeley and Denver, Colorado.
At home, Severo loved grilling carne asada for his family, working on cars in his beloved garage, playing with his grandchildren Johnnie and Anthony, traveling with his wife, taking his kids on trips when they were young, and visiting with his friends.
Mr. Hernandez is survived by his children, Hugo, Victor (Teresa), and Ever; his grandchildren, brothers, sisters; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He is now reunited with Cruzita, his wife. Severo's family would like to thank those who showed kindness and love to Severo throughout his life.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Legacy Chapels 4610 south Jackson road in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
A memorial funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Gudalupe Church in Denver which was Severo and Cruz's beloved Catholic community. A burial service will follow at Arvada Cemetery.
