Joe Bruce Barrett

JOE BRUCE BARRETT Bruce entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 85 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. Bruce was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Caroline (Carrie) Lea Wells and Lee L. Wells; his paternal grandparents, Mary Alice Barrett and William Joseph Barrett; his parents, Bess Wells Barrett and Marion Lynch Barrett; his daughters, Christy Kessy (Monte) and Donna Klement (Chris). Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Dolly G. Barrett; 8 children, Susan Rock (Kevin), Sabrina Armstrong (Neal), Tammy Lea Barrett, Neal Barrett, Jason Barrett, Tanya Andrade (Joshua), Yesenia De La Rosa (Adrian), and Jay Martinez (Louisa); 26 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Carolynn B. Nelson (Morris); numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce attended Texas A&M University and Texas Christian University. Bruce worked for Bentson Tide products, owned Barrett Financial Services in McAllen, was a paralegal, founded SAR Liberty Chapter 42, a member of Church of the King, a golfer, an avid gardener and he loved the ocean. Funeral service will be at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road, Edinburg on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 4 p.m. visitation will follow. Inurnment will be at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta, Texas at a later date.
