MATEO GUEVARA San Juan - Mateo Guevara, 98, entered eternal sleep on Monday, January 24, 2022, in Edinburg. Mr. Guevara was preceded in death by his parents, Mateo and Soledad Guevara; eight siblings, Jorge, Martin, Jesusa, Dominga, Guadalupe, Candelaria, Braulia, and Eluterio Guevara. Mr. Guevara is survived by his wife, Florestela Iracheta; ten children, Maria Elva Guevara, Maria Soledad Guevara, Maria Silvia Guevara, Bulmaro Guevara, Sergio Guevara, Juan Alberto Guevara, Noe Angel Guevara, Jose Alfredo Guevara, Sonia Estela Cazares, and Patricia Guadalupe Guevara; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four siblings, Felipe Guevara, Benito Guevara, Eleazar Guevara, and Antonio Guevara; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 31, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna,. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
