JUANITA ROMEROS
Juanita (Janie) Romeros, 83, went to her forever home in heaven with Jesus on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.
Janie was born on May 12, 1938 in Mercedes, Texas to Riley and Guadalupe De Leon. She was the last living sibling of 15.
Janie was involved as a volunteer in the McAllen General Hospital Auxiliary. She worked at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital dietary department until her retirement. She then volunteered as a foster grandparent at the Hidalgo County Head Start Program, Reed & Mock Elementary in San Juan, and at the Alamo Boys and Girls Club. It brought her much joy to work with children.
Janie had 5 children - Rose Marie, who went to heaven at the age of 3 months, Gloria Romeros, Jeanie Magruder, Edward Romeros, Jr., and Michael (Gayle) Romeros. She had 6 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Janie also had numerous nieces and nephews, including Mere Casares, Irene Casares, Lupita Gonzalez, Lisa Garcia, Gracie Davila, Rose Avila, Tina Davila, and her sister-in-law, Mary De Leon, who were like daughters and sisters to her.
Janie’s providers, who took care of her with much love, including Silvia Melendez, Carmen Rosales, and Rosa Romero, were also like daughters to her.
We invite you to a Celebration of Life Ceremony for Janie at Legacy Chapel, 4610 S. Jackson Road, Edinburg, Texas on Sunday, January 23, 2022 starting at 5:45 p.m.. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
