BEATRIZ VELIZ I LIFT UP MY EYES TO THE MOUNTAINS - WHERE DOES MY HELP COME FROM? MY HELP COMES FROM THE LORD, THE MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH - PSALM 121 MISSION - Beatriz Veliz, 74, died Monday, July 6, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Alamo she had lived in Mission most of her life and was formally of McAllen. Mrs. Veliz is preceded in death by two daughters, Orfelinda and Rosalinda Veliz; a granddaughter, Kimberly Veliz; her parents, Francisco and Felipa Torres; three sisters, Apolonia Martinez, Dolores Garcia and Dora Veliz. We thank the Lord for every second of life that He gave our dear mom. She was an amazing Christian women with a big heart and was always a giving person. Beatriz was always faithful to the Lord and her family. She exemplified what a role model should be in our life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Veliz is survived by her husband, Rev. Jose Veliz; her children, Senorina (Jack) Roberts, Joe (Alicia) Veliz Jr., Andres Veliz, Felipe Veliz, Lusia Cortina, Frank (Mary) Veliz, Alicia Ruth (Tomas) De Leon, Mariano (Veronica) Veliz, Rosa Maria Veliz, David Veliz, Daniel Veliz, Samuel (Erika) Veliz, Juan Veliz, Roberto (Yvette) Veliz and Elizabeth Veliz; 54 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Benito Torres. Visitation will be from 12noon to 9pm with a 7pm prayer service Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 1pm Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Templo Monte Carmelo Assamblea de Dios in Mission. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
