JOSE LUIS CASTAÑON ALTON - Jose Luis Castañon, 85, entered eternal rest Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Alton surrounded by his family. Mr. Castañon was preceded in death by his son Juan Carlos Castañon; his parents, Francisco and Maria Del Refugio Castañon; his siblings, Magdaleno Castañon, Juan Castañon, Elodia Castañon, Jacinto Castañon, Isidro Castañon, and Todosia Castañon. Mr Castañon is survived by his wife, Maria L. Castañon; his five children, Jose Jesus Castañon, Armando Castañon, Jose Luis Castañon Jr., Maribel Castañon, and Violeta Castañon; 29 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren; his sister, Irene Castañon; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at El Templo El Buen Pastor 5305 Daisy Drive in Mission. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at El Templo El Buen Pastor in Mission. Interment will follow at Santa Fe Celestial Gardens in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
