FRANCISCO "PANCHO MOFLES" RODRIGUEZ
EDINBURG - Francisco “Pancho Mofles” Rodriguez, age 83 of Edinburg, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday evening surrounded by his loving family.
Frank was born Feb. 05, 1938, in La Paz, San Luis Potosi, Mexico from humble beginnings. He came to Edinburg at the age of seven as a kid, he was a newspaper and shoeshine boy. In his early teenage years, he worked the fields picking cotton and tomatoes and later went to live with his uncle in Dallas and worked for a paving company. But it wasn't long before he returned to Edinburg where he met the love of his life and began to build a career and family.
A genuinely self-made man, Frank Rodriguez, worked his way from the fields to become a successful independent business owner. Work and family were his passion; the vitality of his spirit and tireless work ethic is reflected in the many businesses and opportunities he is credited for, a legacy that will remain in perpetuity.
He founded his first business Frank’s Auto Clinic in the 1960s and shortly thereafter opened his second business Three Star Muffler Shop of Edinburg, and expanded by opening three more muffler shops in the surrounding area, and eventually founded FEW Inc, a wholesale exhaust company that services businesses state-wide. He was relentless, when it came to exploring business opportunities, even branching out to open Tio Taco Products, a carne seca company that is now owned by his daughter, Liliana Rodriguez-Mancias. He later partnered with his compadre to open La Olla Mexican Restaurant. Additionally, he became a source of information, advice, and financial support to a long list of fellow entrepreneurs who came to him, including his son, whose business, Edinburg Motorsports Park, he helped start.
While Francisco took pride in his business achievements, his true love and joy were his family and his devoted lifetime partner of 57 yrs his wife Beatriz Rodriguez. He is survived by her, his three children Dina Rodriguez-Trevino, (Manuel), Alberto Rodriguez (Sandra), Liliana Rodriguez-Mancias (Javier), and grandchildren Manuel Trevino Jr. (Jessica), Mathew A. Trevino, Vianney B. Trevino, Zoe Rodriguez, Zaith Rodriguez, Zarina Rodriguez, Javier Mancias Jr. and his great-grandchild Elijah M. Trevino.
While all are deeply saddened by his passing, they are comforted by the knowledge that he is resting at peace alongside his son Javier "Javiersito" Rodriguez.
