DALLAS HAINES LAVENE MISSON - Dallas Haines Lavene, 89, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Mission Regional Medical Center from respiratory failure. He was preceded in death by children, Roy Lavene, Michael Springer, Jerry Springer aka “JD”, daughter Brenda Peruski; brother Harold Lavene; wife Suzanne Lavene; parents Roy Lavene (Beatrice) . Dallas was born December 20, 1931, in Flint, Michigan to Roy & Beatrice (Miller) Lavene. He attended Central High School & went on to serve his Country in the US Navy Seals. He married his former wife Sheila Peterson, after their legal separation He worked for the City of Flint in Parks & Recreations later became the Manager of Bay gas station where he met & married his late wife Suzanne (Greenman) Lavene in 1978, and later relocated to Mission, Texas where they became the park managers of Sleepy Valley Ranch for 20+ years. Dallas & his wife Suzanne were highly respected & loved by many of the residents. He enjoyed Reminiscing, socializing, dancing, football, NASCAR, racing motorcycles, collecting belt buckles (the bigger the better), and he never missed an episode of dancing with the stars. Dallas is survived by his children, Denise Stamm (Tracy), LaQueda Cummins, Brenda Youngman, Steve Lavene (Helen), Dennis Lavene (Yvonne), Dallas Lavene aka “Jim”; his sister, Rose Mason; many Loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, extended family & friends. As per Dallas’s wishes, he will be cremated. He was a man who loved to crack jokes and make people laugh & smile. If you wish to do something in his honor, smile when he crosses your mind.
