KARINA M. GUAJARDO
EDINBURG - Karina M. Guajardo, 29, entered eternal rest Friday, June 4, 2021, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Karina’s courageous spirit was an inspiration to all those who loved and cared for her. As a young girl she loved to run, dance, sing and clap her hands – she could probably sing every song from “Barney & Friends.” She loved all food but spaghetti was her favorite. Slowly the effects of Sanfilippo Syndrome took away those abilities but she persevered fighting long and hard against the devastating disease she was born with. She showed us all what true love and true grit really means. She will be dearly missed by her family and all those who cared for her. We treasure the memories we had with her. She has made her mark on our hearts and we are better people because of her.
Karina is survived by her parents, Luis and Angela Guajardo; her sister, Anyssa Guajardo; maternal grandfather, Charles J. Ellard III; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins and many loving caregivers. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jose Angel and Julia Guajardo and her maternal grandmother, Josephine Ellard and her cousin, Juan Pablo Guajardo.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Monday June 7, 2021, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday June 8, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
