MYRON "MIKE" STANKOWSKI MISSION - Myron “Mike” Stankowski passed away peacefully in McAllen Texas on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at the age of 75. Mike is survived by his wife Adele; children, Scott (Kara) of Wisconsin Rapids and Daniel (Lynn) of Mattoon; grandchildren, Austin and Cade; his sister, Mary Lou (Janowitsch). He was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd and sister Kathleen (Ostrowski); his brother-in-law, Helmut "Harry" Janowitsch. Myron was born in Wausau, WI on July 19, 1945 to Louis and Mary (Bruski) Stankowski. He graduated from Rosholt High School at the age of 16 where he excelled both in academics and athletics. He went on to get his bachelors of science in business and mathematics from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. He married Adele (Zdebski) on April 19, 1969 in Chicago Illinois. He held various positions before settling with Farmers Insurance Group as a claims adjuster in 1967. Mike and Adele then settled in Kronenwetter, WI where they raised their two sons. They later moved to Weston in the country where Mike retired and was able to enjoy nature and being able to hunt out of his backdoor. Mike and Adele spent a lot of time with family and friends at the bowling alley and on the golf course. They also enjoyed traveling all over the country via their timeshare. After retiring from Farmers, Mike and Adele purchased a second home in Mission, Texas where they became permanent residents in 2015. There they spent time enjoying the weather, golfing and dancing. Mike was an avid outdoorsman who taught both of his sons the finer points of hunting and fishing. In his later years he especially enjoyed mentoring his two grandsons. He spent many hours on the boat with the boys telling them about the finer points of fishing and life. He was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation. He was a die-hard Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. He loved talking about sports with his family. Mike also enjoyed watching and hearing about his grandsons fishing, hunting and sports adventures. Condolences can be sent to legacychaplesrgv.com and click on Mike's page. The family would like to thank Biltmore/Barcelona for his care during his final time on earth. A ceremony will be held at a later date at St. Adalbert’s cemetery in Rosholt, WI.
