Jose Luis Gonzales

Jose Luis (Joe) Gonzales, 60, was called upon by our Heavenly Father on Friday, March 5th, 2021. He was born on October 14, 1960, in Kingsville, Texas to Elida and Francisco Gonzales. He was blessed to be raised in San Manuel, Texas by Martin Porras and Elida Cantu Porras. Joe was a dedicated and loving father to his children and an amazing grandfather to his grandchildren. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed spending and dedicating his time to the family’s 2H Ranch in San Manuel, Texas. There he worked with cattle and created many unforgettable memories with his family. Joe will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Joe goes home to the Lord to be reunited with his two fathers, Francisco Gonzales and Martin Porras; his brother Francisco (Frankie) Gonzales Jr. Mr. Gonzales is survived by his mother, Elida Cantu Porras; his children, Jose Luis Gonzales II (Anastacia) of Kingsville, Tamara Rae Gonzales (Cesar Guerrero) of Weslaco, and Adrian Javier Gonzales of Corpus Christi, TX.; seven siblings, Cindy Gonzales of Kingsville, Victor Gonzales of Kingsville, Delilah Gonzalez (Oscar) of Edinburg, Liza Ann Porras (Roy Cantu) of Edinburg, Yvonne Olivarez (Martin) of Weslaco, Jessica Amaya (Jaime) of Edinburg, and Martin Porras Jr. (Jessica) of Weslaco, TX.; six grandchildren, Evelynn Rayn, Ricardo Dustin, Camille J’anni, Callie Jae, Makailee Ray, and Ezekiel Jose; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. The gathering of family and friends will be Monday, March 8,2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the recital of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:30 p.m. at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9,2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Funeral Home of Edinburg,Texas.
