Melissa Barrientes

Melissa Barrientes entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg at the age of 48 yrs. Melissa was born on December 6, 1970 in Edinburg to Jose and Genoveva Montalvo. Melissa lived in Edinburg all of her life. She attended Edinburg schools where she graduated in 1989 from Edinburg High School. Melissa attended World Harvest Family Church in Edinburg, where she participated on the praise and worship team. Melissa taught at Harvest Christian Academy for 15 years. She loved to minister to children, spending quality time with her family. Melissa loved to sing. She always had a smile on her face and she loved everybody that she ever came in contact with. Melissa truly lived life to its fullest. 

Melissa was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents-Jose and Julia Montalvo, Maternal Grandparents- Antonio and Hortencia Ramirez.

1 Corinthians 13:13

13And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love;but the greatest of these is love.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Mr. Manuel Barrientes; Her children- Matthew, Ezekiel, Olivia Barrientes; Her siblings- MIchael, Daniel, Mark Montalvo; Her parents Jose and Genoveva Montalvo, and extended family and friends from her church.

A gathering of family and friends will take place Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Legacy Chapels,4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. A celebration of life service will be on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow to Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. 

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
