HOMERO CRUZ
EDINBURG - Homero Cruz, 76, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, March 5, 2019, in McAllen surrounded by his family. Born in Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico he had lived in Edinburg most of his life. Mr. Cruz loved to farm, agriculture was his passion. Homero is preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Francisca Cruz; 5 siblings, Genoveva Buenrostro, Maria Elena Martinez, Jose Alfonso Buenrostro, Guadalupe Garcia, and Hortencia Hernandez.
Mr. Cruz is survived by his wife, Mercedes Cruz; six children, Martina (Albino) Castillo, Homero (Luz Maria) Cruz Jr., Oraldo (Beatriz) Cruz, San Juanita (Arturo) Valdez, Julio (Martiza) Cruz, and Leonardo (Monica) Cruz; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Agapito (Elodia) Cruz, Enrique (Maria) Cruz, Juan (Herminia) Cruz, and Blanca (Oscar) Cruz; numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m with a 7 p.m. rosary, Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2019, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Carlos. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
