Troy Walter Hack, 55, passed away on July 10th as the result of an accident in Edinburg, Texas. He was born December 29, 1967, in Wheaton, Minnesota. Troy is survived by wife Ernalyn; stepson Jonash Ignacio; son Timmy; mother Mildred Hack; brothers, Tim
(Theresa); Torn; Terry (Lucy); and sister Vicki Rupert; nieces and nephews, Josh (Mollie), Emily and Nathan Hack; Jessica and Alex Hack; Allison. Haley, and Kelsi Rupert. Troy's father, Walter Hack, preceded him in death.
As a child, he traveled with his family throughout Europe. He attended elementary school in Ft. Dodge, IA, Germany and Rapid City, SD. Troy graduated from Rapid City Stevens High School in 1986 where he participated in wrestling and cross country. He furthered his education at Black Hills State University in Spearfish and graduated with a major in Human Services. Following his graduation, he moved to Texas where he worked for several years at Tropical Texas Center in Edinburg. Being an adventurous person, he then traveled to China where he taught English to Chinese preschoolers. He married Ernalyn Sumili in the Philippines in 2017.
He made many good friends in Texas, Mexico, and China and enjoyed keeping in touch with friends he knew in school. He also spent time playing computer games, traveling and keeping up with politics. Troy was obsessed with coffee at Starbucks and went to dozens of Starbucks at many different cities in China. His favorite pastime was being with his son, Timmy, and flying drones together as well as many other activities with him in China.
Troy Walter Hack will be remembered for his friendly nature, ambitious spirit and adventurous outlook on life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A family memorial service honoring Troy's life was held in Omaha at Christ Community Church.
