TRIPP CARLSON
MCALLEN - Tripp Sebastian William Carlson, 16, was born in McAllen, Texas on August 11th, 2003 and left us to be with the Lord on May 26th, 2020 at McAllen Medical Center.
Tripp was always a unique boy starting with his name, he was a bright kid that enjoyed things like bugs, plants and rescuing baby birds and nursing them until they were ready to fly away. He loved going to garden shops or any place that had plants or a chance to spot a little creature. If Tripp had to choose between a high definition television or an aquarium of plants or lizards he would gladly chose the aquarium, for a short while he had a dove that he was nursing and somehow he managed to have his Doberman (brother) AKA Knuckles and the Dove to become friends. Several times I saw them sleeping together, our Tripp, the dove, and Knuckles. Tripp always seemed a bit distracted and was a pensive child that grew into a pensive teenager. He appeared a lot of the time as though he wasn’t paying attention and would respond back with things like “I don’t know” “Maybe” or” I don’t even know” the thing is he always knew. Tripp was a very Logical kid with a heart of gold. He wanted to help the world; he had a very special place in his heart for the homeless he would always embrace them. Tripp had trouble asking for help and expressing his emotions he lacked connection with others in terms of expressing what he felt, but he always wore a smile. He however loved his friends so much and if it was up to him, he never would have left their sides. The only time Tripp was truly happy was when he had company. Tripp was an only child and didn’t have family members close in age with him, so his friends became his brothers. Tripp wasn’t sure what he wanted to become or do in the future, his future dreams were very abstract. He understood that he needed to graduate even though academics did not stimulate him one bit, he would lose focus and become bored if something was not grasping his attention however he loved history and politics and religion and knew about a lot of strange stuff that most kids don’t put much attention to. He loved shooting guns, hunting, barbequing, Bob Ross, all genres of music, peanut butter, jelly sandwiches, big macs, whole milk, Little Debbie’s, spending time with his pappo, and his dog Knuckles. Tripp was an amazing kid loving, forgiving, compassionate, strange, unusual, and was diffidently the brightest color in the box. He primarily resided in McAllen, he attended Garza Elementary from K-5th , Fossum and Memorial middle school and was currently attending school at Robert Vela High School in Edinburg.
Tripp is survived by his Father, Jason William Carlson; his mother, Janese Theis; paternal grandmother, Sue Carlson; maternal grandparents, Albert and Janie Theis; his uncle, Aaron Carlson; two aunts, Demmae Theis and Denyse Thies; five cousins, Emma Villanueva, Kora Gonzalez, Kyndra Gonzalez, George Villanueva, and Robert Ruben Gonzalez; along with other extended family that played major roles in his life his step-father, Michael Mason; step-grandparents Harwold Wayne Mason and Diana Mason; and his very best friends that were brothers by love, Ben Zamora, Dominick Zuniga, Albert Williams, and his long term girlfriend Kendell Galindo. Tripp is joined in Heaven with his paternal grandfather, James "Jimmy" Carlson.
