SEVERIANO ‘SEVE’ SOLIS
EDINBURG - Severiano “Seve” Solis, 57, husband, father, brother, and son, peacefully passed away in the presence of his family to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.
Known to his family and friends as “Seve”, he was a native of Edinburg, Texas. Seve graduated from Pan American University in 1985 with a degree in Criminal Justice. In 1984, he began his life-long law enforcement career with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), previously the U.S. Customs Service. Throughout his professional and distinguished career, Seve held many leadership positions with CBP, lastly serving as Port Director at the Hidalgo Port of Entry.
Severiano will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lilia, of 16 years, his sons Sevan and Ronnie, his mother Maria Antonia Ocañas, sister Blanca Valadez (husband Jose), and brothers Oswaldo Cantu (wife Nora), Juan Ocañas, and Jose Ocañas (wife Rebecca).
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1701 E. Richardson Rd, in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
