Roel Castro

ROEL CASTRO MCALLEN - Roel Castro, 62, went to his eternal home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, April 25, 2022, in Edinburg. Roel fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7). Roel was preceded in death by his parents, Mauro G. and Alvilda Castro. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend and an award wining pit master, Roel was always the life of the party. He enjoyed spending quality time with family, friends and especially traveling with his high school sweet heart and love of his life, Deborah. Roel will be dearly missed and forever loved by all whom knew him. Mr. Castro is survived by his wife, Deborah M. Castro; two sons, Roel Guadalupe Castro and Rene Joel (Marla) Castro; four grandchildren, John Isaiah Castro, Aubry Renee Castro, Mark Uriah Castro, and Luke Elijah Castro; his siblings, Ruben (Gloria) Castro and Aleida Castro; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 2209 Kendlewood Ave. in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Pallbearers will be John I. Castro, Mark U. Castro, Rick Castro, Lee Castro, Jesus M. Munoz, and Jorge H. Munoz. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
