Rodolfo "Rudy" Castillo

EDINBURG - Rodolfo Castillo, 70, entered eternal sleep on Friday November 1, 2024, in Edinburg. Mr. Castillo was preceded in death by his parents, Basilio and Virginia Castillo.

Always a sports enthusiast, Rudy as a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees.  Above all, Rudy valued quality time with his family and friends.  He took immense pride in the achievements of his children, sharing their accomplishments with everyone he met.  In retirement, he found an entrepreneurial sprit and spent hours rehabbing old furniture.  He also had an interest in genealogy and traced back his family ancestry to the early 1800s.  And although he wasn't a frequent traveler, he enjoyed countless trips to Las Vegas with his wife, Elvia. 

Mr. Castillo is survived by his wife, Elvia Castillo; three children, Claudia Castillo, Adrian Castillo, and Claritza A. Castillo; three sisters, Gloria Vaughn, Grace McGill, and Virginia Charles; numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday November 7, 2024, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Inurnment of his cremated remains will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.  

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
