Ricardo "Rick" Chavez

Ricardo “Rick” Chavez, 51, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 25th, at his residence in Edinburg.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Robert Chavez Jr.  He is survived by his beautiful daughters, Samantha and Lauren Chavez, both of Alamo; his mother, Guadalupe Chavez of Edinburg and his two sisters, Cristina Zavala (Ciro) of Dumas, Tx and Elizabeth Barraza (Pilar) of Edinburg. He is also survived by his new handsome grandson, Braden Rodriguez and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Rick was beloved by many family and friends, and was the life of any room he walked into.  Rick had a great sense of humor and made friends easily everywhere he went.  He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed sports, fishing, and hunting.  He also loved barbecuing and spending time with loved ones.  His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all those he leaves behind.  Never will his memory be forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life service on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Rd. in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
