Pastor Juan Rivera

San Juan, Texas- Mr. Juan Rivera entered into eternal rest on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at his residence in San Juan, Texas at the age of 64 yrs old. Mr. Rivera was born on October 12, 1951 in Mexico to Rafael and Beatrice Rivera. He was a resident of San Juan for most of his life. He enjoyed wood crafting, playing guitar ,singing and fishing. He was an ordained pastor with the Apostolic assembly. He pastored at the South Pharr Apostolic Church since 1993. He was instrumental in the formation of several missions and two complete churches. He was an inspiration to his three sons, two who are ordained pastors and one ordained minister. He was preceded in death by his parents,and a sister- Guadalupe Chavez Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years Baudelia Campos Rivera, sons- Pastor John J. Rivera ( Linda), Pastor Jorge Rivera (Ida), Minister Hilcias Rivera (Liz), and a daughter Griselda "Cris" Rivera ( Pastor Frank Villegas). Also his siblings- Ramon Rivera, and Aurora Rivera and 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 28, 2016 at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Rd. in Edinburg from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM. with Minister Moises Contreras officiating. Funeral services will take place on Monday August 29, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow to Val Verde Cemetery in Donna, Texas. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Chapels,4610 South Jackson Rd., in Edinburg.
