ORALIA CANTU

EDINBURG - Oralia Cantu, 70, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in McAllen. Mrs. Cantu was preceded in death by her son, Emilio Cantu; her parents, Jose Asencion and Bonifacia Mendoza; two siblings, Camilo Mendoza and Preciliano Mendoza.

She was a devoted mother, extraordinary friend, beloved sister and generally full of life. Her time here with us has been too short. She touched so many people with her kindness and loving nature. The truth is that when you were a friend to her she considered you family. She was a sister to ten, mother to 3, Grandma to 6, great grandma to 5 and friend to so so many. She lives in us and will always remain in ours hearts.

Mrs. Cantu is survived by her husband, Juan Cantu; two children, Juan Gabriel Cantu and Marina (Ricardo) Sustaita; five grandchildren, Daisy Lynn, Denise Marie, Juan Gabriel, Jerardo,  and Jasmine Ariel; five great-grandchildren;  eight siblings, Ramiro Mendoza, Ramon Mendoza, Jose Bonifacio Mendoza, Juanita Ortiz, Raquel Nanatane, Minerva Mendoza, Maria Elena Freeze, and Rosita Mendoza; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
