Nelda Margot Godoy Rocha entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 30, 2016. She was born in McAllen Texas on October 21, 1943 to Abelardo and Gustavia Godoy. She was an avid reader and lover of books as she had been the editor of her school newspaper and active member of The Quill and Scroll and National Honor Societies. It was in school that she met her husband of 46 years, Rene.
They relocated to Edinburg, Texas where she served the community as an ECISD Substitue teacher, Honorary Lifetime member of the PTA, and an active church member of El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church. She was dedicated to her family and was adamant about raising her children in the Christian faith.
She is survived by her three children: Roberto (Pauline) Rocha of Dallas, Rene David (Linda) Rocha of Pharr, and Margot (Rolando) Anaya of Edinburg. 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rene, her parents and her sister Elizabeth Valadez, and various of extended family members.
The Rocha family will receive friends and family on Wednesday August 3, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at El Buen Pastor Methodist Church , 705 E. University Dr. in Edinburg with a 7:00 PM Celebration of Life service.
Inurnment of remains will take place on Thursday August 4, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
The Rocha/Anaya families would like to thank the staff of Senior Care Health and Rehabilitation Center of Edinburg, Dr. Ivan Melendez and Staff , and Greater Valley Hospice for their care and compassion of our beloved mother and grandmother.
