MARIA TABAREZ

PHARR - Maria Tabarez, 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, February 20, 2023, in McAllen. Mrs. Tabarez was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Tabarez; two sons, Rogelio Tabarez, and Jorge Tabarez; her parents, Domingo and Francisca Tovar; five siblings, Felipe Tovar, Jesus Tovar, Julia Tovar, Genoveva Tovar, and Luis Tovar.

Mrs. Tabarez is survived by her eight children, Gloria (Jose A.) Rodriguez, Martha (Salvador) Gonzalez, Maricela (Robert Garcia) Tabarez, Martin Tabarez, Jesus Tabarez, Samuel Tabarez Jr., Juan Tabarez, and Judy (Ricky) Bernal; her sister, Librada Tovar Ramirez; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
