Maria Irma Lopez

EDINBURG - Maria Irma Lopez, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 4, 2025 in Edinburg, Texas.

 Irma was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Horacio Lopez, Sr.; her son, Robert Lopez; and her grandson, Robert Lopez Jr.

She is lovingly remembered by her six children: Rosa Maria (Rene) Gutierrez, Horacio (Hilda) Lopez Jr., Jose Luis (Noemi) Lopez, Belinda (Albert) Rios, Gloria Salinas, and Irma Iris (Miguel) Lopez, Jr. and her daughter in law Sylvia Lopez. Irma is also survived by one brother Jose Flores; two sisters, Alida Garcia and Olga Mendiola; as well as 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to cherish her memory and legacy of love.

 Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

 A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.

 Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Samuel Gutierrez, Jr., Leroy Lopez, Joe Lopez, Roberto Garza, Dylan Matthew Salinas and Tristan Andrew Mares. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons, Rolan Andres Cantu and Brody DeSean Winston.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
