MARIA GLORIA CHAVEZ McALLEN - Maria Gloria Chavez was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility in Edinburg. She was born on July 8, 1943 to Prudencio and Maria Anita Uribe in Hidalgo, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mr. Erasmo Chavez; a sister, Lydia Meave, and grandson, Richard Paul Lanning. She is survived by her children: Hilda Lanning (Paul), Reymundo Chavez (Sandy), Rebecca Villalobos (Eddie), Anabel Guerra (Robert), Yvonne Gutierrez (Beto), siblings; Aurora Sanchez, Eva Garza, Elva Salinas, Arnulfo Uribe (Maria), and Faustino Uribe (Ninfa); 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Lupita Cavazos, numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, her longtime friend, Elugio "Montes" Montoya, and many other family members and friends who loved and cared for her. Visitation will be today, April 15, 2014 from 1:00pm to 9:00pm with a 7:00pm prayer service at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd., in Edinburg. Chapel Service will be at 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 16th 2014 at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hidalgo City Cemetery in Hidalgo. The family would like to thank the staff at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance and Amara Hospice Inpatient Facility for the kindness and loving care given to their mother during her stay.
