MARIA LILY CHAVEZ EDINBURG - Maria Lily Chavez, 88, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, June 17, 2016, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Mrs. Chavez is preceded in death by her husband Ruben Chavez; her parents, Guadalupe and Andrea Valenzuela. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her three children, Alma (Richard) Herrera-Butler, Ana (Roy) Weatherford and Norma Smith; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 6 sisters, Aurora Keller, Elena Campos, Estefana Hernandez, Ludin Wilmot, Elma Fortson and Estella Rodriguez; a brother, Alberto Valenzuela; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016, at Templo Bethel in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
