Maria Casas Moreno

Maria Casas Moreno passed away at the age of 66, on June 16, 2018 in Edinburg, Texas.  Maria is preceded in death by her father, Enrique Casas Sr.  Maria was born September 15, 1951 to Enrique and Josefa Casas in Edinburg, Texas.  She graduated from Pan American University with a bachelors in Education.  Maria dedicated her life's work to helping children of the Edinburg C. I. S. D. for many years. She enjoyed helping others and spending time with her family supporting them in all of their endeavors and adventures. Maria was a devoted teacher until her retirement. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother and aunt. Maria will be greatly missed but, her memory will live on in our hearts forever. Maria is survived by her children Anita Adalia Moreno and Alberto Enrique Moreno (Jacinta "Jackie"); two grandchildren Maya I. Moreno and Christian R. Baggio; her mother, Josefa Segovia Casas; her seven siblings Enrique Casas Jr. (Luz Virginia), Erasmo Casas (Hilda), Hector Casas (San Juanita), San Juanita Casas Gomez (Jose), Edwardo Casas, Flora A. Casas and Elias Casas. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, June 18, 2018 at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 114 W. Fay Street in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park 1701 E. Richardson Rd in Edinburg, TX. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
