MARIA CONCEPCION "CONNIE" BARRERA

MCALLEN - Maria Concepcion "Connie" Barrera, 67, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 18, 2023, in McAllen surrounded by her family. Mrs. Barrera was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Barrera Ortiz; her parents, Marcos Mariscal and Ana Cisneros; siblings, Maria Avila Mariscal, Maria De Jesus Mariscal De Comparan and Maria Guadalupe Mariscal.

Mrs. Barrera is survived by her four children, Jose Alejandro (Jaqueline) Barrera, Yoahanna Yanet (Leonardo Lopez) Barrera; Brenda Crystal (Christian) Torres, Connie Karen (Marco) Granados; seven grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jose, Adriann, James, Marco Jr., Matthias, and Murphy; six siblings, Juan Mariscal, Socorro Contreras, Gume Mariscal, Marcos Mariscal, Cruz Mariscal, and Cirilo Mariscal; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Monday, May 22, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
