Margaret Eva Greenwell

MCALLEN - Margaret Eva Greenwell, 70, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 9, 2025 with her family by her side.

Miss Greenwell was born in Galveston Texas, on January 19th 1955. She attended Mission High School and later, Texas Pan American, where she excelled in choir. Margie was a professional singer with a truly angelic voice, in the band Little Women, which toured in South Texas and Mexico City. She later became a short order cook who made "the best burgers in the world" according to her customers, family, and friends.

Miss Greenwell was a great illustrative artist, dancer, and writer of poetry. She had a deep love for animals. She loved being in nature and looking for rocks, shells, and seeds for her garden. She loved romantic movies, puzzles and comedy as well. She saw beauty in everyone and everything and always helped others in any way she could.

Miss Greenwell is survived by her only daughter, Michelle who inherited many of her lifelong passions; 1 granddaughter, Amalia; 1 brother, Bob; 2 sisters, Wendy and Wanda; her father, James; numerous family and friends.

Her light will shine brighter than her loss, as everyone who has met her is better for having known her. She will be very fondly remembered for her beauty, talent, quick wit, kindness, selfless love, and sense of humor.

Upon her request she was cremated on March 12th 2025. She declined a funeral service, but if you would like to pay your respects, you can add her favorite fragrant flowering plant, the Texas mountain laurel to your garden in her honor.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
