LYDIA VILLALOBOS

MCALLEN - Lydia Villalobos, age 87, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, at the DHR Health Hospital in Edinburg, TX. Lydia was born on October 18, 1935, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico to her loving parents, Francisco Flores and Sylvia Carrión. She grew up in San Lorenzo and developed a deep appreciation for family values, hard work, and kindness. Throughout her life, she remained devoted to her loved ones and nurtured strong bonds that spanned generations.

A wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother of unwavering faith, Lydia exemplified grace, dignity, and resilience in every aspect of her life. She touched the hearts of those around her with her gentle nature, warm smile, and genuine care for others. Her compassionate spirit was felt by everyone who had the pleasure of spending time with Lydia. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, with whom she shared a lifetime of love.

Lydia was a devoted mother to her children, Kevin, Yvette, Magali, and Enith Villalobos; a beloved grandmother to her grandchildren, Emely, Naomi, Roy, William, and Sebastian; a great-grandmother, to Emma. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and friends, all of whom were touched by her presence and influenced by her kindness.

Lydia Villalobos will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She is now resting and reunited with her beloved husband William Villalobos. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and cherished memories that will forever be treasured by her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to live on.

To honor Lydia's life, a viewing will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
