LETICIA V. TAGLE
SAN JUAN - Leticia V. Tagle, graduated to be with our heavenly father on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Born in January of 1957, she was 65 years young. Leticia “Letty”, as she was known by her family and friends, was a passionate soul, a loving, caring and faithful wife to Alonzo Tagle Jr. Ms. Letty, as so many called her, was a spiritual mother to countless individuals but a real momma to her three children: Sarai Seba Tagle (Jaime Vela), Matthew Jay (Lilly) Tagle and Christian (Kayla) Blake. We can say that she was an incredible grandmother but, in this family, she was known as “Nana”, with six grandchildren and one on the way. Each one so individually and fiercely loved by her.
Letty was born to Josue and Delfina Villarreal in San Juan, Texas and was raised in Pharr, Texas. She was proceeded in death by her brother Hugo Villarreal and is survived by her other brother Jay (Linda) Villarreal. She was the baby of the family. Letty graduated high school from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo & worked within the same school district for over 20 years. What seemed to be a homerun of a career at PSJA, it still did not fulfill the greater call that was placed on her life, the call to full time ministry. In 2003, Letty began her ministry journey at Trinity Worship Center-now Center Church-and never looked back for a moment. Even before her tenure at Trinity she devoted so much of her life to the ministry with her work in Children’s Choir and Vacation Bible School. She was known for her creative and elaborate productions and while she may have received worthy praise for her direction of the musicals, it wasn’t what mattered to her, even if her love language was words of affirmation. No, it wasn’t about her; It was about spreading the good news of Jesus to everyone. A foundation that she laid for each one of her children, and for everyone that knew her.
Outspoken and passionate, Letty never looked the part of an empath. Strong characters often don’t, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, there wasn’t anything she loved more than showing people God’s love (okay maybe Denny’s nights). In the final days of her life, she revealed an even stronger side to her faith. A side burdened with believing, not just for her own healing, but that of others as she spent hours, praying on the phone with those who needed faith as audacious as hers. In her Olympian-like pursuit to attain that in which she unequivocally believed to be true, her healing, she still made it her everyday purpose to encourage others that there is hope. And that hope had a name: Jesus. This protracted search ended late Tuesday afternoon in certain victory as she now rejoices in the heavens having finally received her miracle. Because even in the face of the circumstances here on earth, Letty is now healed.
