LEOPOLDO G. HERRERA
SAN JUAN - Leopoldo G. Herrera, 83, went to be with our Lord, Monday, May 21, 2018, in McAllen surrounded by his family. Born in Santa Barbara, Gto., Mexico, he had lived San Juan most of his life. Mr. Herrera is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Z. Herrera; two daughters, Hermelinda and Herlinda Herrera; two granddaughters, Karina Gutierrez, and Perla Alvarado; his parents, Bernardino and Cresencia Herrera; his brother, Lorenzo Herrera.
Mr. Herrera is survived by his nine children from a previous marriage, Leopoldo (Aydee) Herrera, Bernardino (Sylvia) Herrera, Maria De La Luz (Jose Luis) Gutierrez, Agustin (Dinora) Herrera, Oscar Homero (Veronica) Herrera, Jorge Luis (Thelma) Herrera, Alma Herrera, Maria Elena (Manuel) Gonzalez, Angelica Herrera; two children from current marriage, Laura L. Zepeda, Leticia J. (Joe) Mora; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eulalio and Daniel Herrera; two sisters, Altita Madrigal and Herminia De Lira; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, May 24, 2018, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd., in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at La Piedad Cemetery in McAllen.
Funeral service are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
