LAZARO CARLIN BAROCIO
MISSION - Lazaro Carlin Barocio, 76, went to his eternal home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 30, 2022, in Mission surrouned by his family. Lazaro fought the good fight, he finished the race, he kept the faith (II Timothy 4:7). Mr. Barocio was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Raquel H. Barocio; his father, Alfredo Barocio; siblings, Alfredo Barocio Jr., Rafael Barocio, Roberto Barocio, Carmen Barocio and Lucila Barocio; a brother-in-law, Trinidad Arevalo.
Lazaro was a proud veteran having served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. Lazaro was awarede the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He attended Pharr-San Juan-Alamo High School and graduated from U.T.P.A. majoring in Business Administration. Lazaro retired from the US Postal service with 32 years of service.
Mr. Barocio is survived by his wife, M. Guadalupe Barocio; four children, Lina L. Barocio, Lazaro Barocio Jr., Yvonne Molina and Fernando (Marylou) Barocio; ten grandchildren, David, Giovanni, Britany, Thomas, Andrew, Matthew, Jonathan, Isaac, Promise, and Troy; his mother, Genoveva Barocio; eight siblings, Concepcion Arevalo, Guadalupe (Julio) Barocio, Alicia (Juan) Alegria, Josie (Alfredo) Garza, Ydalia (Jose) Sandoval, Blanca (Rigo) Rocha, Doris (Moises) Barocio, and Raul (Zulema) Barocio; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna with full military honors.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
