Laura Amalia Fuentes De Garcia

MCALLEN - Laura Amalia Fuentes De Garcia, 65, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 28, 2023 after a long and brave battle with cancer. Laura was born in Culiacan, Sinaloa Mexico. Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Jose Luis Fuentes Rivera and Teresita De Jesus Cazarez Sanchez; 2 beloved sisters, Marina and Teresa.

Laura is survived by her 5 siblings, Maria Del Carmen, Ana Maria, Isabel, David and Jose; her devoted husband, Ricardo Garcia; 3 adoring children, Ricardo and Rodrigo Garcia Fuentes and Ana Laura Gomez; 3 grandchildren, Lilith Gomez, Ricky Garcia and Sebastian Becerra; numerous family and friends. Laura was an affectionate soul and doting grandmother to her beautiful grandchildren. Family, neighbors and countless friends are mourning the loss of Laura.

Laura immigrated to South Texas with her family in 1997, and began a computer export business in which she worked up unto the week she passed. Her example of fortitude and faith, joy and love through adversity is something her family will carry with them. The amount of lives she has touched through her compassion and devotion to children cannot be measured. The Garcia family would like to thank the many family and friends who supported them and continue to support them during their time of great need. Our dearest Laura, rest in the peace you so dearly deserve. 

Memorial Service for close friends and family to be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2023 at the residence of Aracely Gillet.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
