KEM ELAINE GAYTAN
MCALLEN - Kem Elaine Gaytan, 59, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, May 19, 2018, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kem was oldest of eight children. Kem was an avid athlete for the fighting North Shore Mustangs. She worked in the Houston area until moving to the Rio Grande Valley in 1996 with her husband, Raul. Kem was an office Manager for over 20 years before retiring. Mrs. Gaytan is precdeded in death by her son, James Ross Campbell, Jr.; her parents, Raymond and Linda Mitchell and mother Barbara Williams.
Mrs. Gaytan is survived by her husband, Raul Gaytan; two daughters, Angela (Michael Minor) Campbell, and Devin Gaytan; four grandchildren, Amy Eileen Minor, Anevay LaHoma Garcia, Delsin Rayne Garcia, and Joey John Arnold; seven siblings, Joe Don (Anita) Mitchell, Ricky Ray (Kelly) Mitchell, Ron Allen Mitchell, Michelle (Craig) Brouillette, Charlette Mitchell, Shonda (Brandon) Faunce, and Paul David (Meredith) Hines; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Kem loved doting on her four grandhildren, meditating amongst her four dogs and gardening.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Celebration of Life Service, Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. In the lieu of live flowers the family is asking for live plants to create an at home memorial garden.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
