PHARR - Julio Cesar Rodriguez, 43, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born on September 26, 1980. Mr. Rodriguez is preceded in death by his father, Rosendo Rodriguez Sr.
Mr. Rodriguez was known for living life to the fullest, and always putting others before himself despite the consequences for himself or others. He was the life of the party and brought people together with his infectious spirit. In his career, he worked at Nabors and Pioneer Drilling for 14 years before becoming disabled due to kidney disease but this didn’t stop him. He then became a coach, athletic coordinator and bus driver at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School where he became Coach J and enforced hard work, dedication, rule following, and burpees. He later became a substitute and bus driver at St. Joseph Catholic School for a short period of time. Never one to sit still, in recent years Julio became a Lyft and Uber driver and would share stories about his adventures with whoever would answer his calls.
Mr. Rodriguez enjoyed hobbies such as listening to music, video calling friends and family, and visiting loved ones. Being out and about after being stuck at home for so long was his passion. He loved to watch action movies while scrolling reels or talking on speaker phone. Julio worshipped at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg, but didn’t attend much as of late. His viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd, from 3-9 p.m. at Legacy Chapels, 4610 S Jackson Rd, Edinburg, TX, with a rosary at 7pm.
Mr. Rodriguez is survived by his wife, Jessica Rodriguez; 2 children, Jordyn & Jaiden; his mother, Yassmin Rodriguez; 5 siblings, Karla (Joey), Rosendo Jr (Betty), Jorge (Luisa), Yassmin (Ben), and Kassandra; his in-laws; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, his dialysis friends, and friends who turned into family.
Mr. Rodriguez leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, stubbornness, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider being an organ donor. He was blessed with a kidney transplant once and in death he was able to pay it forward with a donation of his own.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
