JOSEFINA GOMEZ CUELLAR EDINBURG - Josefina Gomez Cuellar, 96 passed away peacefully at her residence in Edinburg surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. Josefina was born October 03, 1924 in Houston, Texas to Leonardo Gomez and Adelaida Centeno. She was married to the love of her life, Clemente for over 77 years. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Clemente, parents Leonardo Gomez and Adelaida Centeno, brother Simon Gomez, sons Ernesto and Jose Luis Cuellar and daughter Atanacia “Annie” Farmer. Josefina is survived by her son Dr. Marcelino (Rosa) Cuellar, son Roberto Cuellar, daughter Adelaida “Mimi” Morales (Travis Campbell), daughter Josefina “Josie” (Alan) Schmidt , brother Juan Gomez and sisters Selsa and Simona Gomez and grandchildren Bobby, Romeo, Veronica, Diana, Suzy, Kristan, Javier, Jessica, Elisa, Erika and great-grandchildren Gabriela, Briana, Viviana, Emma, Cole, Anabelle, Gabriel , Eva and Aurora. She loved cooking, gardening, quilting, taking care of her family and a good laugh over coffee with friends. She always sacrificed her needs for the good of her family. The family of Josefina wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Allstate hospice, care givers Gloria Badillo, Maggie Menedez, Adelita Chairez and Araceli Cantu. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary, Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
