JOSE ALFONSO VALDEZ JR. MCALLEN - Jose Alfonso Valdez Jr., 64, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in McAllen. Mr. Valdez was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Elena Leal; his sister, Silvia Valdez. Mr. Valdez is survived by his wife, Basilisa Valdez; three children, Melody (Oscar Romero) Valdez, Alejandro Emmanuel Valdez, and Melinda Noemi Valdez; his granddaughter, Alize Daisy Dixon; three siblings, Ricardo (Maria Cordova) Valdez, Humberto (Dalia) Valdez, and Sonia (Xavier) Gonzalez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
