Jose R. Salazar

MCALLEN - Jose R. Salazar, 88, went to be with our Lord, on Monday, October 2, 2023, in McAllen. Mr. Salazar was preceded in death by his son, Jose R. Salazar Jr.; his daughter, Blanca E. Salazar; two grandchidren, Austin Rhea, and Isabella Rhea; his parents, Jose Salazar and Rita Diaz; his siblings, Catalina Martinez, Diego Lopez, and Isidonio Lopez.

Mr. Salazar is survived by his wife, Maria De Jesus Salazar; five children, Victor M. Salazar, Martha E. (Antonio) Muniz; Maria I. (Brett) Rhea, Jorge L. (Claudia) Salazar, and Anna "Karina" (Omar) Leal; nine grandchildren, Marco, Alaylah, Marcello, Jorge Jr., Orlando, Myranda, Leilanie, Ciara, and Natasha; two sisters, Elisa Zavala, and Maria Lopez; numerous nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2023, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
