McAllen - Joel Daniel Vargas, 33, entered eternal rest Tuesday, September 12, 2023. Mr. Vargas is preceded in death by his father, Joel Vargas; maternal grandparents, Estanislao Dalman and Salud Ybanez; paternal grandparents, Ismael Vargas and Ernestina Palacios.

Mr. Vargas is survived by his mother, Murita Vargas; 2 brothers, Andres and Alexander (Kimberly) Vargas; 2 nieces, Penelope and Savannah Vargas; his beloved dog, Lois; aunts and uncles, Diana Johnson-Vargas, Joey Vargas, Sam Vargas, Mary Pena, Palacios family, Loren Dalman, Eleanor Ypil, Florecita Gonzaga and Dalman family; numerous family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday, September 18, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Inurnment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
