JAIME ESTEBAN RIVERA
MCALLEN - Jaime Esteban Rivera, 69, of McAllen, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 08, 2018 by natural causes in his loving home. Born in Star County (Rio Grande City, Texas) he lived in McAllen, Texas with his beloved wife Blanca E. Rivera for 41 years.
Mr. Rivera was a proud U.S. Army Veteran having served his country in the Vietnam War. He also was a State of Texas Retiree and graduate of the University of Texas Pan American. Jaime E. Rivera was preceded in death by his mother, Lydia Rivera-Olivarez; sister Melba Moreno; father in law Marcelino Alfredo Moreno & mother in law Ofelia Moreno.
Mr. Rivera is survived by his loving wife Blanca Estella Rivera, twin daughters Ileana Aide Rivera of Harlingen, Texas and Denice Lamar Rivera-Cavazos (Eloy Cavazos) of San Antonio. Father, Jaime Rivera of Mission, TX. Sisters in law Judy (Oscar) Gutierrez, Cristina Correa, and Josie Moreno of Raymondville, Tx; and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren for whom he loved as his own.
Mr. Rivera spent his retirement traveling and making fond memories with his family and friends. He enjoyed his daily trips to have lunch with his friends at Pacer Printing in Pharr, Tx. His genuine heart and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Mr. Rivera’s family would like to extend gratitude to the offices of Dr. Jesus Zavaleta & Dr. Mark S. Gonzalez of McAllen for their constant care of his medical needs.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary service, Monday, November 12, 2018 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg, Tx. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, McAllen, Texas. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
