EDINBURG
EDINBURG - Irene V. Alaniz, 82, died Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at Rio Grande Regional Hospital. Born in El Desierto Ranch, Texas (Edinburg). Mrs. Alaniz had lived in Edinburg all her life.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Omer Alaniz, Her four brothers: Cirilo Villarreal, Baltazar Villarreal, Eleuterio Villarreal Jr., and Antonio Villarreal. Five sisters: Aurora V. Medina, Anita V. Ochoa, Sara V. Hernandez, Guadalupe V. Mendoza, and Dora V. Lopez.
Mrs. Alaniz is survived by her Loving Husband of 60 yrs. Oscar Alaniz Sr., Two sons, Oscar Alaniz Jr. San Juan, Tx., and Ronaldo (Diana) Alaniz Edinburg, Tx., 3 Grandchildren: Ronaldo (Ronnie) Alaniz Jr. David Eric Alaniz, and Luis Oscar Alaniz. She was also blessed with several nieces and nephews that will also miss her dearly.
Irene V. Alaniz worked for the Hidalgo County Agricultural Soil Conservation Society (ASCS) for 39 yrs. And 7 months before her retirement in 1994. Mrs. Alaniz was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, and grandmother. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her life. Mrs. Alaniz loved to travel with her husband and was very fond of being around her family. She led a beautiful and motherly life and was always ready to lend a hand or a prayer for those in need.
There will be no services at this time due to Covid-19, and a Memorial Celebration may be held once the Covid-19 pandemic gets under control.
We would like to Thank the Staff at Rio Grande Regional Hospital that were able to Comfort her during her last stay in the Hospital. We would also like to Thank the Staff at Fersenius Kidney Care (Edinburg) for their 5 ½ years of caring for her thru her treatments of Dialysis. Irene will be greatly missed.
