Imelda “Meldi” Martinez

Our beloved Imelda “Meldi” Pro Martinez entered into her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 14, 2025. She was born on December 1, 1966 to Noe Pro and Blanca Pro in Harlingen Texas. Meldi graduated from McAllen High School in 1985. She received her nursing degree from Blinn College in Bryan, Texas in 1989.

 Meldi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and follower of Jesus Christ. Her amazing vocal talent brought joy, unity, and love to people while giving Honor and Glory to her Lord God.

 Loved and missed by her husband, Angel Martinez III; her son Andrew J Martinez; and his wife, Cila Martinez; and their daughter Adelynn Grace Martinez; her daughter Celeste R Djassa; her husband Joseph Djassa; her daughter, Evie Pro Martinez; and granddaughter Sadie Martinez; her sisters Blanca Garza; Patty Pro; and Dolly Ramon. 

 Funeral services will be under the direction of De Leon Funeral Home from Pharr Texas. Pallbearers will be Andrew Martinez, Joseph Djassa, Robert Ramon, Roberto Garza, Jason Smith, Angel Martinez III, Jose Rosales, Hugo Tolentino MD,Noe Pro, and Rene Solis

 Visitations will be at Legacy Chapels at 4610 S. Jackson Rd. Edinburg, Texas on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 starting at 5pm with the Celebration of Life Worship Service starting at 7pm under the direction of Dr. Bob Kirby Pastor for Foundations Methodist Church-McAllen and accompanied by Pastor Phillip Hoeflinger from First Methodist Harlingen.

On January 22, 2025 visitation will start at 1 PM with procession to Valley Memorial Gardens at 3611 N. Taylor Rd in Mission Texas at 2:00pm for burial at 3 PM.
