Gloria Hilda Saenz

EDINBURG – Gloria Hilda Saenz, 80, entered eternal rest on May 3, 2023. She is preceded in death by her son, Abraham Saenz, Sr., her parents, Antonio and Otilia Ramos; her sister-in-law, Lily Ramos. Gloria was a kindhearted woman. She carried herself with grace and always placed her trust in God. She spoke with compassion and affection. She saw only the goodness in everyone. Our dear Gloria had such a shining personality and her presence brought such joy to all. She was the heart of the family. She leaves a true legacy for her family and friends.

In 1961, Gloria and her husband Reyes founded the family trucking business. They both learned how to run the business from the paper work in the office to the driving of the trucks. Gloria was involved in all the aspects of the business and she managed the business in its entirety. She could also drive trucks and help in their maintenance. She held her CDL license and always renewed it to keep it current. They operated their trucking business until their retirement in 2021. Gloria always addressed her children with tender loving care and kept the house and the business running smoothly. She was the pillar of the family.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 62 years of marriage, Reyes Saenz, Sr.; her children, Reyes (Selma) Saenz, Jr., Amabely (Carlos) Villescas, and Abel (Ana) Saenz; fifteen grandchildren: Jesus R. (Irene) Mora Saenz, Joshua J. Mora Saenz, Selena M. Saenz, Selyza (Joel) Castellanos, Liana (Daniel) Garcia, Damian (Crystal) Villescas, Diego Villescas, Abraham Saenz, Jr., Monica (Jacob) Garcia, Abigaiel Saenz, Bernadette Saenz, Manuel Adrian Mendoza, Tanya Jasmin Mendoza, Izaac Alonzo Mendoza, Abel Saenz, Jr. and nine great-grandchildren; nine siblings: Hipolito (Aracelia) Ramos, Maria (Adolfo, Sr.) Medrano, Rosa (Ricardo†) Falcon, Ricardo (Dora) Ramos, Antonio (Leticia) Ramos, Jr., Berta (Alejandro) Medrano, Emigdalia “Lolly” (Romeo, Sr.) Luna, Norma (Rodolfo, Sr.) Martinez and Teodora “Lolie” Ramos; and many nieces and nephews. We all loved her dearly.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary on Monday; May 8, 2023, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg, Texas. A funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Pharr, Texas. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, Texas. Pallbearers will be Jesus R. Mora Saenz, Joshua Mora Saenz, Damian Villescas, Diego Villescas, Abraham Saenz, Jr., and Manuel Adrian Mendoza. Honorary pallbearers: Izaac Alonzo Mendoza and Abel Saenz, Jr.

Funeral Services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
